Workers'
Compensation
|
Workers'
compensation law was created to provide complete medical and financial benefits
for injuries that occur on the job.
Since workers' compensation benefits are
set by statute, they are limited to four categories: medical treatment, wage
loss, permanent disability, and vocational assistance. The regulatory scheme
that provides for these benefits has become increasing complex.
Our office provides assistance to injured workers at all times in the
claims process. It is our opinion that you should retain an attorney prior to
receiving a denial on your claim or prior to the closure of the claim. Many
times issues can be resolved with a proactive solution rather than merely
responding to a workers' compensation carrier's decision on your
claim.
Workers' compensation attorneys are set by the state and our
attorneys only receive a fee in two ways. An attorney fee is assessed against
the insurer when the attorney wins your case or otherwise proves that the
insurer acted unreasonable. If our office obtains additional money for you or
settles your case the attorney fee is no more than twenty-five percent (25%) of
the additional money or settlement.
