J-1 PROGRAM

Would you like to visit the United States in order to learn new skills? Would you like to meet new people from around the world? As a J-1 exchange programs participant you can visit the United States of America to develop life long skills and friendships.

The J-1 visa is a temporary non-immigrant visa which allows the candidate to participate in a cultural exchange program. The purpose of the program is to increase mutual understanding between citizens of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchanges.

The Work & Travel USA program offer international students an opportunity to experience life and culture in the United States of America during their summer holiday period.

Intern/Trainee

The purpose of the J-1 Trainee/Internship program is to provide international participants with opportunities for professional development. A successful completion of the program will give a candidate insight into American methods of training and a chance to gain experience in a business environment.

Who is eligible?

You are eligible as an intern if you are a foreign national who is currently enrolled and pursuing studies as a degree or certificate granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States or have graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to the program begin date. The maximum program length for an internship is for 12 months.

You are eligible as a trainee if you are a foreign national who has either a degree or a professional certificate from foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in your occupational field acquired outside the United States, or five years of work experience outside the United States in your occupational field and intend to enter the United States to participate in a structured and guided work based training in your specific occupational field. The maximum program length for a trainee program is for 18 months.
